What to visit and do in Alba and Langhe


Discover breathtaking landscapes, savour world-class wines, visit historic villages, go truffle hunting, and enjoy unforgettable food experiences in the heart of Piedmont.

1. Enjoy the views from La Morra and Diano d'Alba
The Langhe region is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and hills. Two of the best viewpoints are in La Morra and Diano d'Alba, from where you can admire the endless vineyards, villages, and, on clear days, the Alps in the distance.

2. Visit Serralunga d'Alba and its castle
Among the region's most beautiful villages, Serralunga d'Alba is home to one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Piedmont. The village's historic charm and surrounding Barolo vineyards make it one of our favourite destinations.

3. Explore the Langhe on foot
Walking is one of the best ways to discover the Langhe. Trails such as the Sentiero del Lupo (Wolf Trail) lead through vineyards, forests, and scenic countryside, offering a unique perspective on this UNESCO World Heritage landscape.

4. Discover the flavours of Piedmont

No visit to Alba is complete without the amazing food. Our favourite regional specialties include:

  • Tajarin (a type of pasta)

  • Vitello Tonnato

  • Tartufo bianco (Alba white truffle)

  • Ravioli del Plin
     

The food culture of the Langhe is deeply rooted in tradition and perfectly complements the area's wines

5. Taste the Great Wines of the Langhe

The Langhe is home to some of Italy's most celebrated wines, including:

6. Experience the Seasonal Traditions of the Langhe

Every season offers something unique, but autumn is particularly magical.

From late August through end of September, visitors can witness the grape harvest.

Autumn is also the season of the famous White Truffle of Alba. Joining a truffle hunting experience with a local truffle hunter and their trained dog is an exciting and unfrogettable experience!

7. Visit the Alba White Truffle Fair

Each autumn from October to early December, Alba hosts the internationally renowned Alba White Truffle Fair, attracting visitors from around the world. The event features truffle markets, wine tastings, local food, cultural events, and culinary experiences.

8. Join a Local Wine Festival

Throughout the year, the Langhe hosts numerous food and wine events. One of the most popular is Di Sorì in Sorì, an event dedicated to the vineyards and wines of Diano d'Alba, offering the opportunity to walk among the vineyards with regular food and wine stops along the way! More infomation here

WHERE TO EAT AND WHERE TO STAY

To fully experience the Langhe, we recommend combining great food, exceptional wine, and friendly hospitality. There are so many great restaurants in the area, but some of our favourites include Il Cortile and La Trattoria del Bivio. In terms of accomodation there are also plenty of options, from luxury hotels to farmstays, but one our favourite is Le Cornici, which is just a few hundred meters from our winery
